KNUTSFORD Heritage Centre is seeking residents’ help in creating a Great War Exhibition scheduled later this year.

The centre is planning an exhibition for the autumn, which will look at how the people of the town and surrounding villages were affected by the early months of the 1914-1918 Great War.

In particular, the exhibition organisers are looking to find out how families managed when their menfolk joined the forces; who filled the resultant gaps in the workforce; how were farms affected; what affect did it have on women; what were the hopes and fears of the community left behind?

They are also keen to discover more about the men who went to fight; those who fought and returned, and those who fought and died.

If you have any relevant documents, letters, postcards, memorabilia, family records – or even stories - that you would like to share get in touch with the centre.
