A POLICE car pursuit through Holmes Chapel ended when wanted occupants absconded from their vehicle and were arrested in nearby fields.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and dangerous driving following the pursuit through south Cheshire yesterday, Monday March 17.
The incident took place at around 4.30pm, when a silver Ford Mondeo, suspected to be involved in crime, was sighted by officers on the M6 near Holmes Chapel.
Following a pursuit that passed through the village of Holmes Chapel and into Somerford, the offenders abandoned the car they were driving and ran from police into nearby fields an attempt to evade capture.
The men, aged 27 and 28, both from the Merseyside area, were arrested at the scene and remain in custody where they will be interviewed by detectives later today.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident yesterday, which involved a silver Ford Mondeo driven in the area between the M6 southbound and Somerford Village, to contact DS Paul Basford on 101.
