A SLIMMING group in Knutsford are losing pounds to gain £s – all for a good cause.

St Vincent Church’s Slimming World group members have embarked on a six-week weight loss challenge – Slim 4 Good.

All those taking part are being sponsored to lose weight and funds raised through the challenge will be donated to East Cheshire Hospice.

Slimming World Consultant Linsey said: “We know that being sponsored to lose weight is a powerful motivator, especially for a cause like this, which is close to our hearts.”

The challenge has so far got off to a successful start.  On February 22, Linsey held a launch party at the Tatton Street church and 24 members signed up to take part.

“We had a fab morning, full of fun and laughter, and it got everyone in the mood for the next 6 weeks,” Linsey said.

“We had a taste session so everyone brought something that they enjoy eating at Slimming World – syn free cake, low syns biscuits, pasta, rice dishes, stir fry.  It showed that even losing weight can be fun and you can still have your cake and eat it.

“Each week the group weight is recorded on our tracking sheet and this week they have lost an amazing 37.5lbs.  I can’t wait to see what they lose this Saturday and can imagine how much they could lose in 6 weeks.”
