LOVE was in the air at Knutsford’s Princess Street Pre-School on Saturday.

Over 100 people poured into the Methodist Church Hall for the pre-school’s annual Valentine’s Disco.

The disco, a fixture on the pre-school’s calendar for over 40 years, saw a whole host of special guests descend on the Princess Street venue, including Jo Jingles and resident DJs, Kevin and Barrie.

Sarah Blaycock, parent from the pre-school, said: “It was lovely to see so many people at the disco. All the children loved dancing, joining in with Jo Jingles and buying sweets off the sweet stall.

“Everyone seemed to really enjoy the whole morning and the atmosphere was full of fun and laughter.”

Princess Street Pre-school is a registered charity and holds fundraising events throughout the year. Through the various activities on the day, over £200 was raised, which will help towards the running costs of the pre-school.

Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe provided a sweet stall and also donated the prize for a ‘Guess the Sweets in the Jar’ competition, which was won by Aurora Lee-Kilgariff of Boothsfield.

There was also a ‘Guess the Name of the Bear’ competition, won by Darren Staton, a cake stall, refreshments and heart shaped balloons for sale.

“The pre-school would like to thank everyone who made the morning a big success,” added Sarah.

Princess Street Pre-school offers pre-school care on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings; and full day sessions on Wednesday and Friday. For more information about the sessions, contact Lucy Davies on 07949 169804.
