THE family of a man who died following a road collision in Lower Withington have paid tribute to him – describing him as a ‘dedicated and loving family man’.

Dan Barlow, 33, from Macclesfield, died after his Volkswagen collided with a Range Rover on Farm Lane around 7am yesterday, Thursday February 13.

Emergency services attended shortly after but sadly Dan, who was driving the Volkswagen Golf, died at the scene.  The front seat passenger, a 46-year-old woman, had to be released from the car by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Dan’s family said: “He was a dedicated and loving family man, adored by his wife, two daughters, mum and dad, sister and dearly loved by all who knew him.

“A keen mountain biker and musician.  He devoted his life to helping other people as a pain nurse.”

The driver of the Range Rover, a 43-year-old woman was taken to Macclesfield Hospital to be checked over and discharged the same day.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 132 of 13 February.
