MOST schoolgirls dream of becoming a star – singing their heart out in an arena stage, a cheering audience and the V.I.P treatment.

For one Holmes Chapel teenager that dream could soon become a reality.

Claudia Preece, 14, has made it through to the regional finals of Teenstar – a national competition searching for the UK’s next teen and pre-teen singing sensation.

The Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School Year 10 student could follow in the footsteps of past pupil, superstar Harry Styles, if she impresses judges at the next stage of the competition on March 9.

Claudia said: “As this will be my first time performing in front of a large audience I am really looking forward to it.  I am told it will be a big production with TV screens, a presenter and a special guest star performance.”

It is the first time the Taylor Swift fan has entered the competition but her nerves clearly didn’t get the better of her as the judges gave her the big thumbs up at her Liverpool audition on February 9.

Claudia will now take part in a live regional head-to-head battle with other competitors at the Liner Hotel in Liverpool next month.

She will be performing in front of hundreds of audience members and a professional judging panel in a bid to win a place at the National Grand Final.

If Claudia makes it through to the Grand Final she will get to perform in front of top industry judge and even be in with the chance of landing a record deal.

Chris Grayston, Events Coordinator for Teen Star, said: “We are looking to find an act that has something unique to offer, another Birdy or Luke Friend that can go all the way, with both the ability to deliver a strong live performance but also the potential to become a professional recording artist.

“There’s so much talent out there I’m sure we can find that star again.”
