A TASTER session for a new reading group for people with dementia and their carers will take place in Knutsford this Friday, February 14.
Attendees will be able to listen to poetry and prose whilst enjoying tea and biscuits.
Jo Hawkins, operations manager for Alzheimer's Society in Cheshire and St Helens, said:"Activity groups can make a huge difference to people’s sense of wellbeing. Our new reading group in Knutsford is just a welcoming place where people who enjoy stories and poems can meet and chat. The service enables people with dementia to meet other people in a similar situation whilst also having fun and trying out new things.
‘There are more than 6,000 people living with dementia in Cheshire East but with the right support people can live well with the condition for a number of years.’
Anyone interested in finding out more can just turn up at the reading group on Friday, February 14 at Jubilee Hall, Stanley Road, Knutsford between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
