ADOPTION Matters Northwest (AMNW) chairman, and the former secretary for education, David Cracknell, is set to be recognised by the Queen with an OBE in this year’s honour list.
David, 66, from Chester, has chaired the board of Adoption Matters Northwest since 2005 and has dedicated his life to helping disadvantaged children and supporting families throughout the county.
David says: “I am delighted. It is an honour. Although, I couldn’t have achieved this without the support from my own family. We achieved this as a family team.”
AMNW Chief Executive, Norman Goodwin, added: “We’re immensely proud of David and his achievement. His support and commitment to our charity has been unfounded and we are incredibly lucky to have him on board.”
Current figures from Adoption Matters Northwest show that there is a shortfall of families in Cheshire who are willing and able to open their hearts and homes to a child in need.
