FOOTBALL legend Sir Bobby Charlton’s landmine detection charity is celebrating its first anniversary at its Knutsford headquarters.

Find a Better Way, which was founded by Sir Bobby in 2011, is dedicated to providing practical solutions to the global problems of landmines and last year the charity made Booths Park its home.

John Edees, Chairman of Find a Better Way, said: “The past two years have marked a period of tremendous growth for Find a Better Way and having an established headquarters here at Booths Park has helped us to take the charity to new heights. It is hugely beneficial having the whole team in one centralised office environment.”

Sir Bobby was moved to set up Find a Better Way after seeing first-hand how children in war-torn countries have been maimed by landmines.

His charity aims to save lives by using technology to cut the time taken to find and destroy landmines and it is also committed to improving access to health care services for victims.

Julie Ault, Booths Park customer services manager, said: “We were delighted to welcome Find a better Way to Booths Park last year and are very pleased to have been able to provide a small amount of practical support to this incredible charity.

“Sir Bobby’s compassion and inspirational vision for tackling the devastating issue of land mines is to be commended.”
