KNUTSFORD telecoms firm Concert, has been named as an official supplier for a new Government scheme providing Manchester and Salford-based businesses with super-fast internet.

Under the new ‘Super-Connected Cities Programme’ SMEs, social enterprises and charities in Salford and Manchester are eligible for grants of up to £3,000 to help them boost their digital connectivity.

Concert Managing Director Neil Hollands said: “We are delighted to have been selected to be an official supplier to this ground-breaking scheme. We have been providing internet connectivity to businesses across the north west for 10 years and we look forward to this new exciting chapter.”

Salford and Manchester are among 22 cities currently eligible for the grant which does not need to be repaid. Participants only need to pay the ongoing monthly connection charges.

Neil added: “The grant is to cover install costs, which is the big spend preventing many small businesses from upgrading their internet connection from broadband to Leased Lines.

“Dedicated high speed internet opens up a whole range of possibilities for SMEs. From increased efficiency with its corollary savings to utilising VoIP communications and high end cloud apps.”

The scheme aims to improve digital connectivity in the participating cities, to help create new jobs and investment and therefore make the UK a more attractive place for companies to locate and do business.

Neil added: “Although you will have to apply through the official site, if you get in touch with us we can guide you through the application process.”
