JODRELL Bank is set to welcome back the BBC for the fourth year running for the latest series of Stargazing LIVE.

Stargazing LIVE begins tomorrow night, Tuesday, and will continue on Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm.

The shows will see Dara O’Briain and Professor Brian Cox returning to explore the wonders of the universe, with this series including three days of live stargazing, featuring impressive images, surprising science and unique demonstrations, while also including the latest weather reports, pictures from probes around the solar system and an attempt to film the Aurora Borealis live from an aeroplane.

Professor Cox said: “This series promises to be bolder and more ambitious than ever. We’ll be looking at everything from the Milky Way and other galaxies to space weather.

“Everyone can get involved and we hope the audience will join in to explore the wonders of space.”

There will be additional Stargazing content on other channels across the BBC.

In CBeebies Stargazing, pre-schoolers can find out more about the wonders of the universe and explore the amazing spectacle of the night sky. Presented by Chris Jarvis and with expert knowledge, courtesy of Space Scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, a group of young Stargazers visit 'Stargazing Park' to learn more about stargazing.

Also on CBeebies, Professor Brian Cox will read a Bedtime Story, The Way Back Home, by Oliver Jeffers.

To mark its return the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre will be hosting family science shows on Saturday and Sunday (January 11 and 12) and is designed to encourage everyone to make the most of the night sky.

The Jodrell team will be discovering how stars are formed, what stars are made from and we’ll be carrying out some explosive live demonstrations. The family science show times are 11am, 12pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and booking is recommended due to high demand.

Shows are suitable for children of five years and up. They are free but normal admission applies.
