May I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and thank everyone for making our local community such a positive place in which to live, work and enjoy life.

This year I have particularly appreciated being involved in a number of key events which add so much here, including the ever expanding Goosfest, the launch of the Square Kilometre Array of which Jodrell Bank is the international leader, supporting the many Church events including St Luke’s Holmes Chapel Organ Marathon in aid of the Barnabus Homeless charity, the Holmes Chapel Scout Group impressive Showcase 2013 and the wonderfully sunny Goostrey Rose Day.

I was particularly excited to be at the first spade event at the Dane Valley project which will provide such a great amenity for all ages and abilities, and have enjoyed the many high quality cultural events such as the Holmes Chapel Singers.

I have been particularly impressed with the progress made by the recently established “Friends of Goostrey Railway Station” – a real model of constructive joint working on the part of local residents of which this community can be rightly proud – as indeed I am to represent you as your MP.

Thank you to all those who volunteer so generously in these and so many other community groups which make this such a wonderful constituency to represent.
