RESIDENTS will have until January 20 2014 to have their say on the changes to the proposed A556 Knutsford to Bowdon improvement scheme.
The consultation document detailing the amendments to the proposed upgrade to the 556 between Knutsford and Bowden is now available on the Highways Agency website.
The Highways Agency is proposing a number of changes to the original planning application, which was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate in April 2013.
Changes include the re-design of a National Grid pipeline diversion; solutions to optimise land use and reduce the impact of the scheme on residents and landowners; and a short-term interim 60mph speed limit to reduce impact on air quality.
Construction of the improvement scheme is scheduled to start in 2014/15 subject to completion of statutory processes.
Anyone wanting to know more about the improvements should visit highways.gov.uk and search for A556 Knutsford to Bowdon Improvement, or alternatively call the Highways Agency’s information line on 0300 123 5000.
