MATTHEW Fort, leading food writer and gastro expert of BBC 2’s Great British Menu, will be touring Booths stores next Tuesday.

He will be in Knutsford between 3.45pm and 5pm and will be conducting tastings of his Mr Trotters Great British Pork Crackling – original and jalapeno chilli seasoned - and of his Mr Trotters Great British Chestnut Ale.

Matthew said: “Mr Trotters Chestnut Ale is brewed for us by Lancaster Brewery. I first met them at a food fair and was immediately impressed by their beer range and their enthusiasm for creating beers with real flavour.”

Mr Trotters Original Great British Pork Crackling was launched in November 2011 by Matthew Fort, Tom Parker Bowles and their team as they were dismayed at the host of pork scratching being made from less happily housed Danish pigs.

Mr Trotter’s Pork Crackling is made from 100% British pork, all of it Red Tractor approved, and by triple cooking the cracklings to their own recipe, they are as nothing compared with what has gone before – dangerously crunchy and full of the flavours of a Sunday roast. They are great warmed too!

Mr Trotter’s Great British Pork Crackling have been developed and cooked by RayGray Snacks of Staffordshire.
