KNUTSFORD children were rewarded by their arty endeavours after helping a local business spruce up a lonely Christmas tree.
The Wendy Diddams optometrist competition challenged kids to create eye-catching decorations to adorn the barren branches in their Minshull Street surgery.
Nine-year-old William Jones and Luca Hodgson, 7, won a Kindle Fire HD e-reader and digital camera for their festive creations.
Wendy Diddams said the annual contest and special Christmas lights switch on open evening had really captured youngsters’ imaginations.
“The entries were absolutely fantastic,” she said. “Each one was a little masterpiece.
“We had some very imaginative entries, including a Christmas sprout with little arms and legs.
“There were also Santas and angles wearing glasses, so the eye care message was certainly not lost on the children. The tree is now a real sight to behold.”
