THE final call has gone out to celebrate those who are leading the way in first aid in Cheshire.

St John Ambulance is searching for individuals and organisations that are making Cheshire communities a safer place to live and work, and wants Knutsford Guardian readers’ help.

The first aid charity wants readers to nominate an outstanding Knutsfordian for an Everyday Heroes award and all nominations must be submitted before December 13.

Sue Killen, Chief Executive at St John Ambulance, said: “We’re on the lookout for Everyday Heroes. These are ordinary people who have done extraordinary things, by putting first aid into practise when it matters the most or helping more people learn this vital skill.

“Everyone has the ability to save a life and we want to celebrate those who are doing just that; in their communities, workplaces and also their homes.”

This year’s winners will be crowned at a star-studded awards ceremony at the Lancaster London Hotel near Hyde Park on March 26 2014.

Previous awards ceremonies have gained support of celebrities and royalty, including Bolton Wanderer’s midfielder Fabrice Muamba who credits first aid with helping save his life after a cardiac arrest.
