A WOMAN from Over Peover who has campaigned for higher broadband speeds across Cheshire has hailed the announcement that exchanges around Knutsford will be hooked up to the fibre network.
Kathy Doyle, of Cinder Lane, told the Guardian she was hoping she would benefit from the news.
“They said they will make a further announcement in December, and hopefully then they will be able to go into a bit more detail,” she said.
“Connecting Cheshire, to be fair to them, have been working very hard, and it has been a bit of an uphill battle because they have to follow Government procurement rules.
“There are layers of hoops they have to jump through. The money is coming from the EU but the Government has slowed things down as well.
“But it’s very nice to see something happening at last.
“I’ve been involved in this for years, and it now seems as though they’ve got something off the ground.”
