Scouts are building up to a memorable bonfire celebration
8:00am Thursday 31st October 2013 in News
TWO bonfires are to take place in the Knutsford area this weekend.
Clr Barbara Coan, Knutsford town mayor, will open the Knutsford Scout bonfire at Booths Hall on Saturday.
Members of the Viking Explorer Scout Unit in Holmes Chapel have been helping to build the village’s bonfire, which is being held at the Victoria Club on Saturday.
As part of the volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh Awards the group of 14 to 18-year-olds are required to carry out volunteering support and this forms one of their many activities.
The task is taking place over several days in the run-up to the event and in some challenging weather.
The annual event held by the club starts at 7pm, gates open at 5.30pm and tickets for a family of four are £10.
The event includes fairground rides, a barbecue, toffee apples and a licensed bar. Tickets for the Knutsford event can be bought at knutsfordbonfire.co.uk.
