2:37pm Friday 25th October 2013 in News
TRAFFIC came to a standstill on both sides of the M6 this morning due to a multi-vehicle traffic collision.
The incident occurred between J20 at the Lymm Interchange and J19 at Knutsford at around 11.30am.
A car left the northbound carriageway of the M6 and landed on the opposite side.
The incident involved five vehicles, three saloon cars and two heavy good vehicles and saw an Audi and its driver become airborne over the barrier onto the southbound carriageway.
The vehicle landed facing north following the collision which affected vehicles on both sides of the motorway.
All lanes have now re-opened but traffic between J20 and J19 M6 southbound is slow moving and congestion is backed up to J22 to Newton Le Willows.
