2:30pm Monday 28th October 2013 in News
AN Allostock youngster helped to walk out an international team before the start of a World Cup qualifier this month.
Lucky Euan Causer, eight, won the chance to lead the Wales team out at Cardiff City Stadium on October 11 before their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match versus Macedonia.
Euan walked out with defender James Collins before Wales went on to record a 1-0 victory thanks to Simon Church’s second-half goal.
Euan, who won the player escort place after entering a national competition via McDonald’s website mcdonalds.co.uk/kickstart, said: “I couldn’t wait to walk out into the stadium with the Wales players. It was amazing to be on the pitch before the match.”
Ian Rush, McDonald’s director of Welsh Football, said: “It was great for Wales to record a victory in Cardiff. The atmosphere was electric, and I’m sure the player escorts who walked on to the pitch had a great time.”
