More volunteers needed for cancer care fundraiser over the festive season

A CANCER care community fundraiser has launched a plea to the people of Knutsford to help raise hundreds of pounds this Christmas.
Laura Tomlinson, community fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care, is calling for more volunteers to man the charity’s cash collections at supermarkets throughout the area during the festive season.
Marie Curie Cancer Care needs to make sure every hour of every collection is covered to ensure it can continue providing one-to-one nursing care for terminally-ill people in their homes.
Laura said: “We have amazing volunteers in Knutsford, and a fantastic fundraising group, who give their time to collect each year.
“But we always need more volunteers to make sure we don’t miss out on valuable collecting time.
“We’re really lucky in Knutsford that the local supermarkets have been so generous in offering us dates to collect.
“We want to make sure we make the most of this opportunity to raise much-needed funds for cancer care.”
Volunteers are needed to man collections at the Aldi supermarket on Brook Street, from Friday, December 13 to Sunday, December 15.
Laura added: “Please get in touch today if you would like to give up a few hours to help fund local cancer care.”
For further information about the collections call the fundraising office on 0161 255 2800.
