Tatton urge ghost hunters to take a trip around park
6:00pm Monday 21st October 2013 in News
SPIRIT detectors at the ready as you prepare to look for ghostly apparitions in the spooky autumnal gardens at Tatton Park this October half term.
The garden team are predicting that around 15 ghosts will be making an appearance, but with more than 50 acres of gardens – where will they be?
It’s almost certain that the best place for a possible sighting is in the eerie Tower garden, believed in the past to be the home of a hermit, whose used to frighten house guests as they enjoyed the garden in the evening.
Over the past few years over a dozen ‘active’ ghosts have been encountered at Tatton’s Old Hall. It is widely believed a former estate worker from the 1800s haunts the building’s Victorian parlour.
Another spectral squatter has been seen cleaning his gun with a faithful dog at his feet. In the Great Hall several people have felt their hair being tugged and a cord or ribbon slowly tightening around their necks.
If you’re looking for other frightfully fun events this half term, visit the haunted Old Hall from Thursday, October 24 to Thursday October 31.
