Remember When: It is not all change in town
THESE pictures show how Knutsford looked in the early part of the 20th century.
As you can see many of the buildings have not changed from what is there today.
Despite a change of name the front of the Old Sessions House in Canute Place looks very similar to what it did when it was the Red Cow Hotel.
Even the changes in Princess Street are minimal.
The buildings next door to the Methodist Church have hardly altered and the new owners of the Cha Bar will certainly recognise their new venture in these pictures.
This selection have been supplied by Mary Gracie, a volunteer at Knutsford Heritage Centre.
Mary has a large collection of postcards and she has kindly allowed the Guardian to feature some of them.
But we’d love to see your old pictures of Knutsford – if you’ve got some then pop into the Guardian surgery every Wednesday between 10am and 11am at the Heritage Centre on King Street.
Hand them over to reporter Cara Cunningham who will scan them and return them as soon as possible.
Alternatively images can be sent via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have memories or photographs you wish to share with readers, write to the Knutsford Guardian, 3-6 Theatre Court, London Road, Northwich CW9 5HB or email email@example.com
