Pictus Stud do dressed up dressage for charity
10:35am Thursday 19th September 2013 in News
A FAMILY-run business in Ashley will be hosting a one-day style event this weekend to raise money for charities close to their hearts.
Pictus Stud at Stock Farm will be welcoming competitors and spectators to their farm on Saturday evening and Sunday morning to enjoy the dressage, show jumping and cross country event.
Stock Farm’s proprietor, Louise Paterson, decided to fundraise for cancer charities after one of her young riders, 20-year-old Gemma Long from Altrincham, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.
She said: “Barry’s Project and Christies have done so many wonderful things for Gemma and many other teenage Cancer sufferers we wanted to give something back.”
The event will kick off on Saturday at 4pm with fancy dress dressage and a BBQ and continue on Sunday from 9am with bacon butties following by show jumping and cross country events.
