Have your say on the town’s strategic plan
A KNUTSFORD town councillor is encouraging residents to make suggestions on how to improve the town council’s Strategic Plan.
The main purpose of the strategic plan is to provide a focus for the council over the next seven years.
Following a full council decision to issue the document for consultation back in July, the plan has now been released, and Clr Tony Dean is urging residents, community groups and businesses to have their say before the November 1 deadline.
Clr Dean, who presented the draft plan on behalf of the Strategic Plan Working Group, said: “We would like the people of Knutsford to look at this Strategic Plan for the Town Council and let us know if they think we should add something to it or take something out.”
The plan focuses on five key ambitions; to make Knutsford a better place to live, work and visit; to preserve and enhance the character of the town and its green spaces; to deliver effective services; to work with others to deliver improvement in areas where the town council has no direct control and to have an improvement plan for the town council.
Clr Dean added: “It is a guideline for our work over the next few years and will, inevitably, not mention everything that the town council will get involved in detail, but rather gives general guidance on our priorities for our action and for our influencing of others.”
The Strategic Plan Working Group consisted of Clrs Dean, Bancroft, Clive Nicholson, Forbes and Hutchence.
