Organisers call for riders to sign up to cycling fundraiser
2:50pm Monday 2nd September 2013 in News
WITH just over a fortnight to go until The Ellipse – one of the region’s premier fundraisers – organiser Bruntwood is encouraging Knutsfordians to get on their bikes for charity.
The fifth annual Ellipse, which last year attracted more than 200 riders, is set to take place on Sunday, September 15.
Cyclists will start and end their challenge within the grounds of Bruntwood’s historic Booths Park – and with three different routes to tackle, riders of all abilities can saddle up and raise money for local causes.
The routes are: the Ellipse – the biggest challenge available on the day at 55 miles, the Mini Ellipse, a 20-mile ride which takes in the quieter roads and lanes of Cheshire; and the Family Ellipse, one for all the family at 10 miles long.
Peter Crowther of Bruntwood said: “We’ve had a fantastic response. We’d love to encourage those people who may be in two minds to take part.
“Whether you’re the next Bradley Wiggins or haven’t sat on two wheels since childhood, there’s something for everyone.”
