AS the summer draws to a close, families will be able to enjoy the last of the summer ‘shine’ with a packed bank holiday weekend at Tatton Park.
From August 24-26, Home Farm will be hosting The English Country Weekend for the very first time.
The farm team has planned a traditional weekend of country crafts and will be joined by skilled craftsmen, such as bee keepers, dry stone wallers and spinners, demonstrating their art and giving visitors an insight into their techniques.
Jayne Chapman, farm manager, said: “We want to bring back all our childhood memories with a fun-filled event.
“Lots of traditional crafts, games and local produce promise to make it a special day for all.”
There will be an array of traditional games for the younger generation, such as the three-legged race and tug of war and traditional stalls will be setting up shop to sell their locally produced fayre.
As well as the chance to get up close and personal with the farm regulars, including pigs, horses, donkeys, goats and poultry, visitors will also be able to catch a glimpse of the farm’s latest addition – McGregor, the one-month-old foal.
