KNUTSFORD’S Royal May Queen brightened up a grey afternoon when she opened St Paul’s Church Over Tabley annual garden party on May 18 at the Mere Parish Club.
The Tabley Garden Party is traditionally opened by the Knutsford May Queen and this year the recently crowned queen, Jenny Warburton, carried out the honour.
This year Jenny was welcomed by Rev Susan Talbot, who presented her with a bouquet by Black Rose Flowers, before they set off on a tour of the various stalls and named the noisy lamb, who provided a backdrop of ‘baas’ throughout the afternoon.
Tea was taken inside the warmer club, where the impressive work in the Jenny’s dress and crown could be closely admired and thanks could be given to the many local businesses who had given their support to an event which turned out to be most successful, despite the poor weather.
