A KNUTSFORD businesswoman is hoping the town supports one of the country’s biggest horse shows on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Warrington Horse Show will be held at Tabley Park on May 27, and is expected to attract 8,000 visitors.

Show chairman Liz Sutton, pictured, who runs Delamere Dairy in Knutsford, said it was great news that the event would be coming to Tabley Park.

“It has been held in Warrington for more than 100 years so it’s a big departure for the area and Tabley Park is such a beautiful venue for it,” she said. “On the show jumping side we’ve got people from all over the country taking part. We also have a lot of entertainment for the general public that is not neccesarily centered around horses. We’ve got a farmers’ market and food stalls.”

Liz has been involved in the show for 10 years and said the move to Knutsford came about after the former site in Daresbury became unvavailable.

She said: “We hope to attract a new audience as well as the people who have been for years and years.”
