A KNUTSFORD historian and genealogist has landed herself a weekly slot on BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Radio Lancashire.
In October, Michala Hulme set up her own business called Unearth the Past, a history research company specialising in family trees.
The Guardian featured her work after she had just been shortlisted for Best Dissertation in Regional and Local History at her University.
She said: “Every week is different and I get a new challenge, last week I helped a lady find out what had happened to her grandfather, which was really emotional.
“The week before that I was tracing the origins of a family name and that was for BBC Radio Manchester.
“On a Wednesday I’m on BBC Radio Lancashire researching the family history of the presenter, which is fab.
“So far he has had a grandmother born in India and a grandfather who was in a pow camp in Germany and was shot twice. I have also done the family tree of comedian Justin Moorhouse.”
