MONEY raised from a polo event held in Over Peover has been handed over to a primary school and a Manchester-based hospice.

On September 1, last year, the Cheshire Forest (Hunt) Polo Fund held its annual polo match at New Hall Polo Ground, Over Peover.

During the afternoon there was an auction, with one of the lots being a private day’s hunting for 20 guests with the Cheshire Forest Hunt, which is based at the Kennels, Peover Park, Over Peover.

The day’s hunting was bought by Steve Everson, and the day was taken on Wednesday, March 6 when hounds met at Colshaw Hall, Over Peover.

Following the success of the 2012 event, the Cheshire Forest (Hunt) Polo Fund made donations of £500 to Peover Superior Primary School and £1,000 to the Christie Hospice.

During the meet presentations were made to children from the primary school and to Steve Everson on behalf of the hospice.
