A UTILITIES company has apologised for the problems that resulted in water being cut off in Knutsford on Monday.
Residents in the Bexton area of the town complained of their water being off in the morning.
On Twitter, Stuart Willis said: “Water pressure down in Knutsford, do u know why?”, while Lucy Goldsmith tweeted “Water completely off Bexton side of Knutsford.”
Sarah B added: “Water off again in Knutsford – not good with a three month old baby.”
United Utilities told the Guardian that the problem was corrected by engineers shortly after midday but some residents still complained of their water being off on Tuesday morning.
Mike Bradley said: “Was off in Cranford Square this morning too – just what you need when you're getting ready to work.”
Stuart Atkinson, water network manager for United Utilities, said: “We are sorry for the problems with water supply on Monday which was caused by a pump failure in the local area.
“Our engineers were able to resolve the problem by midday on Monday and people should now be experiencing a normal supply.
“Anyone still experiencing a supply issue should contact us directly on 0845 746 2200.”
