Residents urged to tweet for Knutsford
KNUTSFORD'S Twitter users are being not to forget to tweet their support for the town using #rt4towns from midnight on Wednesday as the 24 hour Retweet for Towns Day begins.
Knutsford tweeters are being asked to help promote the town across the UK and to get the #rt4towns hashtag trending.
TV weather goddess Sian Lloyd (@SianWeather) is backing the day.
"There is still no clear solution for reviving our high streets yet residents remain passionate about their town centres,” said Sian who played a big part in spreading the word about the 2012 campaign to her 66,000 plus followers on Twitter.
“Retweet For Towns Days give us all the chance to shout out loud about why we love where we live and let the world know that we care for our traditional high streets and want them preserved."
Sian follows the @KnutsfordTalk twitter account and has already been retweeting tweets about the town.
"It's great to see the tweets people are already sharing about the town from new tweeter @AlansFruitnVeg who has a stall on the indoor market to @KnutsHeritCent (the Heritage Centre) who has tweeted about the 10,000 visitors they have every year," said Julie Tempest of Knutsford-based online media firm Blue Barnacles PR.
"By using, and following #rt4towns, we can share information about our fantastic town and learn what other towns are doing to boost their local economies. It's great advertising and costs nothing but your time."
