Land owner provides new car park for Knutsford

KNUTSFORD has a new public car park.

Monckton Properties, the owners of the Conservative Club building – which closed to the public last year – has installed a pay and display car park to the rear of the site.

It is being operated by a third party, Britannia Car Parks.

The extra 30 spaces are in addition to the Canute Place car park on Green Street (behind Sainsbury’s, Pets At Home and McLaren).

Henry Brooks, from Monckton Properties, said: "We are pleased to be able to offer more town centre car parking for visitors to the town's shops, tourist attractions, restaurants and other businesses.

"Having a charging system is necessary to ensure spaces are available to visitors, and these two car parks together add significantly to the capacity.

"The ability to pay by phone and for long-stay we hope is a significant added convenience, and monthly and annual permits are available from Britannia as are garage units from TEM.
