Tweet on March 21 to help to promote your town

KNUTSFORD’S tweeters are again being asked to highlight the positives of the town as Retweet For Towns Day returns on Thursday, March 21.

Last year saw Knutsford emerge as one of the towns retweeted most on the day as word about the town spread nationwide, with tens of thousands of retweets of the #RT4TOWNS hashtag.

Julie Tempest of Knutsford-based online media firm Blue Barnacles PR set up a special twitter and Facebook account to launch the campaign last year.

“The #RT4TOWNS event was not only great fun for Knutsford businesses and residents, but also raised awareness of the town across the country,” said Julie.

“Twelve months on, I see how much the Knutsford online community has grown and developed, which has had a very positive effect on the town as as a whole.”

Retweet For Towns Day will see people of all ages and from all walks of life tweet and retweet about what is important to them about their town over a 24-hour period.

Some 130 communities joined in last year to celebrate the work being delivered locally and talk about what is great about their communities.

“On Thursday, March 21 Knutsford has the opportunity to again take part in this light-hearted coming together of residents, businesses and councils to forget the negatives, promote Knutsford, and invite visitors to come and see what’s happening in our amazing town,” Julie added.

“I’ll be doing all I can to promote the #RT4TOWNS via facebook.com/ KnutsfordTalk and twitter.com/KnutsfordTalk, but if Knutsford Town Council or any other local business would like to share the cost of promoting the town in this way, please let me know by e-mailing pr@blue barnacles.co.uk.”
