A GRAFFITI artist is heading around Knutsford spraying slogans on walls in black and silver paint.

The slogans, ‘Google Bill Hicks’ and ‘Nothing would be the same if you didn’t exit’, have been written on walls in the town centre.

While on The Moor, the graffiti said ‘art changes people, people change the world’.

The graffiti has also appeared under the railway bridge off The Moor.

If you have seen any more graffiti report it to the Streetscape department at Cheshire East Council by calling 0300 123 5011 or e-mail streetscape@cheshire east.gov.uk.

A "graffiti artist" you say? Since when is vandalism a form of art? Graffiti crimes are now estimated to cost Americans $20 billion a year according to www.DefacingAmerica.
com and other graffiti experts. How will ever stop graffiti vandalism. Although many communities have instituted prompt removal programs, meaningful penalties as well as enforcement efforts, graffiti crime has continued to grow. Since attitudes impact behavior, perhaps we need to look at graffiti prevention with education that fosters attitudes that see graffiti for the hurtful thing it is. Graffiti isn't art or free speech.
