A MONTHLY farmers market has been launched in Goostrey.

On Saturday, February 23, The Crown held its first open-air farmers market, and despite the bitterly cold weather stallholders braved the elements to bring locals and passing visitors their produce.

Many of the stallholders sold out before the morning ended, including Pig & Co from Blackden, while Cheshire cheese specialists H.S. Bourne’s local produce also featured.

Chris Jennings, manager of The Crown, said: “We are incredibly lucky to have such great local producers around Cheshire.

“It’s fantastic that we are able to showcase them at a regular farmers market here at The Crown.”

The next farmers market at The Crown is on Saturday, March 30.
