A GOOSTREY sausage maker is celebrating after three of its creations were shortlisted for a top award.
Pig & Co, based at Blackden Hall, told the Guardian that its Sizzling Sugarbush, Hey Pesto! and Roman Lucanian sausages have been shortlisted for the Sausages, meatballs and burger category in the FreeFrom Food Awards 2013.
The awards celebrate innovation by the food industry in creating great tasting food free from one or more of the following ingredients – wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, yeast, nuts and soya – which trouble so many people.
The final winners are to be announced and presented with their certificates by Antony Worrall Thompson at an invitation-only party in London on April 16.
Julian Price, the owner of Pig & Co, said: “We are absolutely over the moon that at the end of our first year in business we entered three of our gourmet sausages, and had all three shortlisted.”
