A NATIONAL charity is urging runners to sign up to take part in it upcoming events at Tatton Park.

Age UK’s Wrap Up and Run 10k event is on Sunday, March 17 in Tatton Park to help raise funds for vulnerable older people in the local area and across the country this winter.

The event is part of a national series of 10k and 2k fundraising runs in March ideal for fun runners, joggers as well as serious runners looking to achieve a new personal best.

Paul Farthing, fundraising director at Age UK, said: “All funds raised by our Tatton Park 10k and 2k events are crucial in allowing us to continue our vital work this winter, helping older people stay warm and well.

“Our services – such as our free information and advice line and local day centres and befriending schemes – are a lifeline for many older people.

“We help people all year round, but the cold and dark winter months can be particularly harrowing, so your support now is vital.”

For those who feel 10k is a bit of a stretch, Age UK is also providing the chance to take part in its inter-generational 2k event, also on Sunday, March 17.

It’s a perfect occasion to take part with grandchildren, mums and dads or older relatives. The 10k event costs £16, while the 2k event costs £6 to enter or £10 for two family members. To register call the Age UK 10k events team on 020 3033 1725.
