Royal visitor helps to raise hundreds of pounds for charities

A ROYAL visitor helped to raise money for the town mayor’s charities on Saturday.

Clr Vivien Davies held the coffee morning at her home to raise funds for the Mayor’s charities, East Cheshire Hospice, the Royal British Legion and Knutsford Royal May Day.

Christine Masson of the Knutsford branch of the East Cheshire Hospice attended and helped, along with Jenny Whelan, who had a marvellous array of crafts for sale.

John Walker and Peter Finney from the Royal British Legion also attended and helped, and had a table of some books for sale, which proved very popular.

Clr Davies said: “We were also honoured to have at the coffee morning the May Queen, Lakeisha Bradbury, at her last event before the new May Queen is chosen, and it was a delight to see Lakeisha again.

“It was a most enjoyable morning and as Mayor I would like to thank all those who attended and helped for making it such a successful event.”

The proceeds from a raffle, ticket and cake sale, the craft and books sale and donations came to £368.
