ANTHONY Hopkins will portray Britain’s own ‘Master of Suspense’ when Hitchcock hits the screens this week.

To celebrate the launch of the film, the Knutsford Guardian has teamed up with Curzon Cinemas to promote their competition to give away some exclusive merchandise.

Up for grabs are a Hitchcock T-shirt, notebook and pen, book, soundtrack and cup and saucer.

Sacha Gervasi’s film tells the story behind Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Psycho focusing on the creative and personal partnership between the director and his wife Alma (Helen Mirren).

With the release of North by Northwest in 1959, Hitchcock was one of the most successful directors in Hollywood.

So why, one year later, did he choose to spend his own money on a low-key, black-and-white shocker that could end his career?

To enter the competition, simply answer the question: What film did Hitchcock direct after North by Northwest?

Send your answers along with your name, address and phone number by email with the title ‘Hitchcock competition’ to reporter David Morgan at david.morgan@guardiangrp.co.uk before noon on February 12 after which a winner will be selected at random.
