Firm celebrates its 20th birthday

A PR agency headed up by a Knutsford resident is celebrating 20 years in business this year.

Mere PR, the Hale-based PR consultancy, is celebrating its 20th anniversary during 2013.

The company was set up by chief executive Tony Tighe, from Knutsford, in 1993 after he left Greenwood Tighe Public Relations, a company he founded and then sold to the multi-national Euro RSCG Group, recently rebranded as Havas.

Over the past two decades, Mere PR has has opened more than 570 retail stores, pubs and hotels, launched flights from Manchester to destinations such as Barbados, Las Vegas, Washington and Chicago, as well as a host of other worldwide destinations and supported products from marmalade and beer to financial services.

Tony said: “The past 20 years have just flown by, but I have enjoyed every minute of it.

“I have so many highlights and amazing memories, but the greatest pleasure I get is when I look back at what we have achieved.

“I have built an agency on continually surprising clients and exceeding their expectations.”
