A FORMER control room worker and radio operator for Cheshire Police has taken on a new challenge as an officer on the beat.

PCSO Sophie Emmerson will cover her new patch, Mobberley, Pickmere and Warford, after completing five weeks training with PCSO Lindsey Whitehead.

The 25-year-old previously spent three years in the control room at Cheshire Police headquarters.

She said: “I am new to this role and am keen to get out and tackle ongoing issues.”

I wish Sophie good luck with her new responsibilities in the community.
I hope that she actually does something useful rather than just stroll around taking the air.
The last PCSO with responsibility for Mobberley was called Greg something. In the 3 month period that he was assigned to us he was never seen by anyone in the village although Mobberley Parish Council paid for his services. The previous PCSO to Greg was called Clare. Although she was actually seen she never actually did anything. One of the main easily solved problems in Mobberley village is thoughtless parking which can soon be resolved with a book of tickets.

It is not surprising that PCSO's are known by their regular colleagues as CHIMPS which apparently stands for
