POLICE are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Pickmere.

At about 8pm on Monday, January 14, the victim, a 12-year-old boy, was walking along a path between Wincham and Pickmere, a continuation of Mere Lane, when he was approached by two youths.

One of the youths pushed the boy and demanded money.

When the boy told them he did not have any, the youths fled towards Pickmere. No weapon was used.

The youths were white, about 5ft 9ins tall and of slim build. They wore dark tracksuits, hooded tops with the hood up and had a scarves covering their faces.

DC Andrea Price of Northwich CID said: “The victim was not injured but was left shaken by his ordeal.

“Incidents of this nature are uncommon in Pickmere, and we are doing all we can to trace the offenders.

“We ask anyone with any information to contact police on 101 quoting incident 733 of January 14, 2013.”
