SIGUR Ros are to headline this year's Live From Jodrell Bank festival.
The influential Icelandic ambient rockers will be performing in the shadow of the iconic Lovell Telescope as part of their world tour.
The Reykjavik quartet's 'transmission' will go out to a crowd of around 5,000 on Friday, August 30, while the telescope will be used as a giant 76m screen.
Other bands will be announced in the weeks to come. Tickets cost £35 and go on sale from 9am on Friday.
Elbow's show last year sold out in just an hour.
Frontman Guy Garvey said: "Jodrell was a dream come true. All the thrills of space exploration for a band of the Star Wars generation, plus some pretty amazing Cold War era hardware. "
Music fans will also be encouraged to learn about science and space with workshops, lectures and experiments throughout the day in the discovery centre.
Sigur Ros will also be playing at Manchester Apollo on March 3 and 4 and Jodrell Bank is not the only unusual venue the band are performing at.
They will be playing at the Eden Project in Cornwall on June 30.
