A BOOK detailing the appearance of a former Prime Minister at a town fundraiser is set to go under the hammer at a Knutsford auction house.
The red leather-bound book, which has Knutsford Liberal Bazaar on the front, features signatures from many of the eras leading liberal politicians.
The most well-known politician to have signed the book is Lloyd George, who attended the event held at Booths Hall in October 1928.
Other signatories include Violet Bonham-Carter, a fellow liberal and grandmother to actress Helena Bonham-Carter, and Donald Maclean.
He was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and led a wartime coalition government between 1916 and 1922 and was the leader of the Liberal Party from 1926 to 1931.
Marshall’s believes the book was produced as part of a fundraiser before the 1929 May General Election, which was won by Labour and saw Ramsay MacDonald elected as Prime Minister.
The book is due to go up for auction at Marshall’s on January 29.
