KNUTSFORD’S MP has talked through the upcoming changes in the NHS with the owners of one of the town’s pharmacies.

Following the move of The Prescription Service to Tatton Street in Knutsford, George Osborne paid a visit to the team to see how the business was progressing in its new premises.

Husband and wife team Caroline and Lee Williams, their business partners Tony and Jane Hall and the dispensary team welcomed George to the new shop on January 3.

George discussed with Caroline and Lee some of the changes about to take place in the NHS, with the introduction of doctor-led clinical commissioning groups in place of the current primary care trusts.

Lee explained to George that since his previous visit in March 2011, the pharmacy is now open for 100 hours per week and how the business had evolved to reflect this change.

The Prescription Service still operates the same delivery service in addition to its new shop premises.

Mr Osborne said: “Having officially opened the Prescription Service in Minshull Street in March 2010, it was great to visit their new and expanded premises in Canute Square and hear about their improved pharmacy and prescription delivery service.

"I was delighted to hear about their success, which has enabled the business to make this move into a prominent position in the town, and wish them all the best for the future.”
