8:20am Friday 4th January 2013 in News
THE Cheshire Police and Crime Panel are looking for two residents to serve as co-opted independent members.
The panel will liaise with newly-elected Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer on matters including the policing budget and the appointment of a chief constable.
Independent members will serve a four-year term, be expected to work one day a month and will receive induction, other appropriate training and claim reasonable travel expenses back.
Councillor Les Gilbert, Cheshire East Council cabinet member with responsibility for communities and regulatory services, said: “The role of a panel member will be a very important and demanding one.
“The panel aims to reflect in general the breadth of communities within Cheshire, and welcomes applications from all eligible people – irrespective of age, gender, race, disability or belief.”
The closing date for applications is Friday, January 18, and a pack can be downloaded online at warrington.gov.uk.
