A MILLINGTON-based charity raised more than £100,000 at its recent Christmas ball.
The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust held its 15th annual ball at The Mere on Saturday, December 8, and with a little help from its friends managed to raise the impressive sum.
The charity’s president, Sir Bobby Charlton, and his wife Lady Norma were joined by Paralympic patrons Sarah and Barney Storey, along with Lee Boardman, Jennifer James, Catherine Manford and Mr Christmas himself – Noddy Holder, with his wife Suzan.
Coronation Street stars Samia Ghadie and Will Thorp joined the esteemed list of guests, which also included X-factor winner Shayne Ward and Faye McKeever.
Patron, and husband of Catherine, Jason Manford was unable to attend the event as he was working hard for the cause elsewhere – taking part in a charity poker match in London, which saw the comedian win £20,000 for the charity.
Pippa Watton, the event fundraiser, said: “This has been a difficult year for all charities, with many being forced to cancel their events due to poor ticket sales.
“We have therefore been thrilled that our amazing supporters have continued to show their dedication to our cause by turning out on this cold December night to celebrate with us.
“It was a wonderful evening, and we were again touched by the generosity of our guests, who never fail to surprise and touch us.
“We can’t thank them all enough – their generosity will change so many lives.”
