CHILDREN at Lower Peover Primary School celebrated National Tree Week by planting trees on the Tabley estate.
On Friday, November 30 pupils celebrated the annual event with a fun-filled morning in the woods, learning about the vital importance of trees to our natural environment.
The day’s activities included a guided walk around the estate’s woodlands and Tabley Mere.
As well as having the opportunity to take in the Cheshire scenery, pupils were given a crash course in tree identification and enjoyed a picnic lunch. Sharon Dean, head teacher at Lower Peover Primary School, said: “Lower Peover Primary School is pleased to have such a good relationship with the Tabley estate.
“The Crown Estate’s managing agent Dan Fields plays a vital role in maintaining contact at key points during the year to support events developing the children’s knowledge of natural world and the local area.
“The children get very excited about these outings, and they really love being outdoors and learning about nature.
“We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Tabley estate and visiting again soon.”
